| About Jeff |
At age seven, Jeff’s mother asked him if he would try learning the trombone that was lying around the house after his brother Tim had given it up. Jeff very reluctantly agreed, not particularly wanting to get into music. He was hooked instantly and played the trombone until he graduated. Along the way, he also learned how to play the saxophone, bass guitar, and drums. Through the years he taught himself how to play his mothers piano.Jeff met Bob Boonenberg and formed their first band, "Dialogue" in which he played bass guitar. He played his first high school gig at age sixteen and couldn't believe he got paid to have so much fun. More than three decades later, he is still performing live as a solo act now. Along the way, Jeff played bass guitar in several bands including Spectrum that went on to win "Rock Wars '82", Hot Ice, which performed at dozens of the finest hotels throughout Michigan, Ohio, and Canada. There are not many lounges in the Detroit metro area that he has not played at. In 1986, Jeff left the road and started a duo named "Legacy" in which he played keys with various female vocalists for the next six years. In '92, he was convinced to try going solo on stage and has been doing so ever since. Although Jeff plays ballads, he prefers to keep his music up-beat and mix in some humor throughout the evening. Presently Jeff is playing at a variety of restaurants in the downriver, Michigan area, and loving to play live more than ever!! |
